Anno 1800 Buildings Guide (2023)

In this Anno 1800 Buildings Guide, we’ve listed of all buildings in the game that are divided according to the types of the working class like Farmers, Artisans, Engineers, etc. We share all the peculiar details including the description for the buildings, their construction, maintenance costs as well as the dimensions of the plot.

As evident, buildings will make the core of your empire in Anno 1800. Anno 1800 divides its buildings to 4 different designs i.e. the Old Buildings, New Buildings, Arctic Buildings and Enbesa Buildings. Between these four types of settlements and service centers established, 12 different social groups are covered.

These are Farmers, Workers, Artisans, Engineers, Investors and Scholars and over to the side of the New World buildings: Jornaleros and Obreros. The Arctic Category has Explorers and Technician building and the Enbesa has Shepherd’s and Elders Buildings.

How to Change Building Orientations

At times you will have to change the direction of the building to utilize the space in the most optimized manner. As the city grows, the available space becomes less and you need to incorporate the building in the confined space available.

Once the buildings have been erected you can rotate them to make more space when required by hovering the mouse button over them and then select them to finally rotate them using the Middle Mouse button.

At lower difficulties you can even change the location of the building and rotating them is always an option

Buildings Causing Pollution

Since Anno 1800 is a real-life city building game you can expect some building to create pollution too. The pollution will result in reduction of the quality of life, therefore, you need to manage that. Usually, the production buildings create pollution and how much they do can be seen in the description window of Build Menu.

Furthermore, you can also open the Attractiveness menu in the top middle bar and then use the pollution card and it will pin point which building is creating how much pollution

Range of Buildings

When you build any building you will notice a highlighted area on the area where you are erecting your new building. The area covered by the highlighted green color specifies the range around the new building.

The range means the radius around the building that makes the building accessible and the other building that will be affected if they fall in that radius. For instance, warehouses will operate effectively if they fall in the Production building range

Stone Roads also increase the range of the building to which it connects the rest of the area so it is recommended to upgrade the dirt roads into stone roads.

Buildings Layout

A layout will ensure that a particular building is performing at its best performance level, making it both effective and space saving. There are different classes hence different lay outs. Whatever the class and building it is, a good layout is necessary.

City Layouts
City Layout must contain all the required public buildings in the close vicinity of the residences as these public places also generate income. Roads, Railway tracks, power plants and other basic needs building should be there

Furthermore Luxurious building along with hospitals, police stations and Town halls shall also be in place so that the residents stay happy and feel contended.

Production Layouts
These layouts are all about the production buildings and roads that connects them. A good transportation system depends on a good road network. Along with the production buildings there should be Warehouses to store your finished goods#

Along with above you can also add some necessary side buildings including Fire stations, trade unions, heaters and Power plants etc.
